Chapter 10

Harper was on her way…

Hannah read the text message in her bathroom, looking down at her phone which was on the counter. She smiled and then went back to applying an almost-not-there pink lip gloss.

It was nearly two hours after she and Harper had parted at the mall. Normally, at this point on a Sunday night, if she had nothing better to do, Hannah was winding down for bed. She would be in her nightclothes du jour, her hair would most likely be twisted up into a bun, any makeup she had on would be Cetaphil-ed off, and she would be trying to decide what to watch on Netflix or Prime Video before pulling down her bed and falling asleep.

But this was not a normal Sunday night…

Inviting Harper over for what was obviously going to be sex followed by sleeping together had been a no-brainer.

First of all, Hannah really wanted Harper. In fact, she had wanted her last night when they had been kissing in the parking lot of Bunko’s. And obviously, Harper wanted her as well. So, why delay the inevitable any longer than necessary? It was all well and good sometimes to take things slow, but her and Harper…? That was not a taking it slow situation.

Secondly, even though ideally her first time with any woman would occur when both of them had more free time, or maybe didn’t have to work the next day, the fact was that Life didn’t always work out perfectly like that. Besides, she and Harper weren’t aristocrats or Carlsbad trust fund babies. They had to work for a living, and both of their schedules sucked. If they planned their sex life in this new relationship around convenient timetables, they’d never get around to actually having sex.

Thirdly, where was it written that they had stay up all night fucking tonight? The lesfic novels she sometimes read often had scenes in them where the characters spent hours having sex, and then woke up fresh and eager to start work the next morning.

She’d had plenty of marathon sex sessions with past lovers, but she’d also had plenty of instances where she and…whoever simply got what they needed from each other within, say, forty-five minutes or an hour, and then called it a night. Besides, if she and Harper did work out as a couple, they would have plenty of occasions for all-night sex. It just didn’t have to be tonight.

With the lip gloss applied, Hannah walked nude from her bathroom to her closet, right next to it. She had already showered and lotioned herself…all that was left was to figure out what to wear.

It didn’t have to be complicated. In fact, she didn’t want it to be complicated. What she wanted was for Harper to have as few items to remove as possible. With that in mind, she opted for a mini sundress, underneath which she put on black high-waist bikini briefs, and no bra.

Done.

However, wearing so little made her realize that it was a bit chilly in her apartment.
